Hello, thank you for taking the time to find out about me. My name is Liz Martinez and I am the mother of 2 beautiful daughters and a brand new baby boy! I was working full-time as a mechanical engineer when my first daughter was born in 2002. At the time, I really loved my job and had no intention of staying at home- not to mention we needed the income. Then we moved to CT (were living in FL) to be closer to family. I had a long commute, and while we were blessed to have family babysitting so we didn't have daycare expenses- that has its own issues. After about 18 months I longed to be at home with my daughter. Something that, when I got my degree and started working, I NEVER thought I would want! Not that I had anything against any stay at home moms, I just didn't think it was for me. Boy was I wrong. I was lucky, the company I had been working for gave everyone the option to accept a Voluntary Severance Plan. I had been working a Melaleuca business shortly before the announcement and thought that this was just the perfect way to be able to be at home. Plus, my husband, who is an electrician, was in a situation of needing to change jobs. However, he was using a company vehicle and we had let my dad drive our other vehicle which left us with only one vehicle of our own. So, I accepted the severance plan, much to the surprise of my employer- and they did try to get me to stay, and the week after I was done working, my husband started at a new job- which had better pay and better benefits. Both my husband and I had embarked on new "careers." He was working for a different electrical company, and I was at home with my daughter. We had a few months worth of my income to get us by and I had unemployment benefits as well. It was an interesting time in our lives. We had another baby and I was not doing well with my Melaleuca business. There were many reasons for that, most of which involved training (or lack of it) and the system for sharing the information. It isn't necessary for me to go into details so I won't. The only important part of that experience, is that I started to HATE phone prospecting. Which, is something that just about everyone shares! That was when I embarked on my journey to earn an income from home WITHOUT phone prospecting. I have always been creative and love taking pictures. I can think of wonderful things that I would LOVE to be able to draw, but my physical drawing abilities are limited to stick figures and whatever minimal sketches I did for my engineering career. But, with the computer it doesn't matter if I can draw something with a pencil, I just have to be able to use the computer and the software to put the things together. I am very excited to be able to offer affordable website design to businesses. I have found that there is a need for affordable web design services, especially for those with home businesses. I am looking forward to meeting your website or graphics design needs. Warm Regards,
Liz Martinez |
